Seriously, I have seen people bringing up Nazi's, how dumb America is, etc. Guys, instead of focusing on the people who thought Bush was a better choice than Kerry, perhaps some time being inside focused about why your party is lost is the right thing to do. Apparently, you're not in the mainstream. I'd spend time figuring out why. And it's not because everyone else is dumber than you are (no matter how much that may make you feel better).
Given that Kerry got nearly 5 million more votes than Gore did in 2000, I don't think I'd characterize his campaign as "not in the mainstream." Of course, Bush got nearly 9 million more votes than he did in 2000. This, along with exit poll surveys indicating Bush's strong "values" based support, suggests that Karl Rove's strategy of mobilizing religious conservatives was spot on. And that the gay marriage issue was skillfully exploited to this end.
I do agree that there's a measure of patronizing elitism amongst Democrats that the party needs to get past. Why is it that when an affluent liberal like me votes against his economic self-interest I'm being altruistic but when a working-class conservative does it he's a dupe?
